Growing up in an environment where alcohol and violence happened on a daily basis, I  witnessed first hand the devastation and destruction of an abusive relationship and was determined that one day I would help others who were experiencing similar situations.

As a young man, I travelled many times back and forth across this great country from Vancouver to Halifax on Greyhound buses and hitchhiking, staying in hostels and shelters in various cities throughout the country. I spent a few years experiencing first hand the struggles and challenges that addicts and homeless people faced in the communities.
I have, since then, worked with many people in situations including addictions, family and couples therapy, youth, individual adult counselling, life skills training, anxiety and depression.

In the early 90’s, I worked as a general manager of a community arena in the Interior of BC. During this time I organized community events for youth and the general public providing an alternative to alcohol and drugs for those struggling with addictions etc.

Later, I worked independently for a couple years as a spiritual counsellor helping young adults with various struggles in a christian setting. Developing programs for teaching, providing a weekly meeting place to gather for fellowship, organizing events etc.

Operation of a level three foster home through the Ministry of Children and Families BC, dealing with high risk youth experiencing various trauma and abusive related situations. Working with these youth was a great privilege for me and seeing them several years later living healthy and productive lives was a great reward.

Later on I received certification through VCCT for Substance Abuse counselling as well as a Diploma in Professional Counselling. I have completed studies as well through the College of the Rockies, TRU, UOM and many online facilities. I have worked in public agency settings as a drug and alcohol counsellor as well as a private practice. Over the years I have continued my training as a professional counsellor and received numerous certificates and Professional Development training, seminars etc. in the counselling field and continue to do so on a regular basis.

As well, I have earned a Masters Degree in Metaphysical Science, M.Msc. and a Practitioner Diploma to provide spiritual counselling and understanding in related fields.

I have extensive training and certification in Internet addiction including: online gambling, pornography, online affairs, gaming, and educating parents on understanding how to relate to their children in this digital age.

I am a registered counsellor (RTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT)  ID2195, and am fully licensed and insured.
